Governor Kathy Hochul announced a statewide crackdown on impaired driving from February 3 to 9, 2025, ahead of Super Bowl Sunday.
State Police and local agencies will conduct increased patrols, sobriety checkpoints, and underage drinking enforcement, funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
During last year’s campaign, 262 impaired driving arrests and over 8,000 tickets were issued. Hochul urged New Yorkers to plan for a safe ride, stressing that driving sober saves lives.
Officials encouraged using the “Have a Plan” app to locate transportation and report impaired drivers.
