Gas prices in New York increased for the second straight week, reaching an average of $3.11 per gallon on Monday, up from $3.10 last week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Statewide prices have risen about 6 cents over the past month, though they remain lower than last year’s average of $3.21 per gallon. Over the past year, prices fluctuated between a low of $3.05 in December and a high of $3.64 in May.
New York’s gas prices are currently slightly above the national average of $3.10 per gallon, which declined from $3.11 last week.
