The Syracuse women’s soccer team (6-3-1, 0-2-0) was blanked 1-0 by Virginia Tech (7-2-1, 2-0-0) on Sunday afternoon despite leading 7-4 in the shots on goal department.
At the 40:53 mark in the contest, Allie George netted her third goal of the season on a rebound after Syracuse goalkeeper Shea Vanderbosch knocked away the initial corner kick, and that stood as the difference in the game.
Erin Flurey led the Orange with three shots on goal, while Ashley Rauch and Iba Oching added two each.
Syracuse will be back in action on Thursday when they visit Florida State, with game time set for 7 p.m.
