Livingston County embraces National County Government Month (NCGM) this April, spotlighting the crucial services provided by the county that ensure the well-being, safety, and prosperity of its communities. The theme for this year, “ForwardTogether,” emphasizes the pivotal function of county governments in fostering intergovernmental collaboration, enhancing community engagement, and spearheading policy initiatives that benefit all levels of government.

This year’s celebration will not only underscore the essential services delivered by the county government to its residents but also share recent accomplishments and honor the professional achievements of its officials and employees. “This month allows us to reflect on the vital role county government plays in our community, from public safety and infrastructure maintenance to economic development,” stated Livingston County Board Chair David LeFeber.

Since 1991, the National Association of Counties (NACo) has promoted NCGM to elevate public understanding of county responsibilities. Livingston County’s observance of NCGM reaffirms its dedication to governance characterized by integrity, transparency, and accountability, paying tribute to the commitment of county officials and employees in serving and enhancing the community.
