A Niles woman was charged after deputies said she pepper-sprayed and struck a man during a domestic dispute, leaving him with facial bruising.
Emily MacNaughton, 37, was arrested Tuesday and charged with attempted third-degree assault, the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office said in an Oct. 1 release.
A man flagged down deputies at a business in Moravia at about 8:43 a.m. Tuesday and reported the dispute, according to the release. He told investigators MacNaughton had sprayed him in the face with pepper spray and struck his face.
Deputies said MacNaughton had left before they arrived but was located a short time later during a traffic stop. She was taken to the Public Safety Building for processing and then to centralized arraignment court.
The release did not provide the arraignment outcome or a future court date.
