Carlos Carrasco got lit up for a second straight start as the New York Mets (49-55) fell 11-6 to the Washington Nationals (44-61) in the third game of a four-game series on Saturday night at Citi Field.

Carrasco gave up eight runs (six earned) over 2 1/3 innings. The right-hander has allowed 13 runs over his last two outings and 17 over his last three starts.

Tommy Pham, Francisco Lindor, Francisco Alvarez, and Mark Vientos homered. Vientos also added a run-scoring double.

Reed Garrett tossed 2 2/3 shutout innings in his Mets debut.

The Mets will try to take three of four from the Nationals on Sunday at 1:40 p.m. Justin Verlander, who teams have reportedly shown interest in ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline, will get the start.
