Developer Novilla RNG is planning a renewable natural gas project, titled Morning Light RNG, at O’Hara Farms in Aurelius. The project, located at 1136 Chamberlain Road, will involve a 2.5-million gallon digester, producing the equivalent of 575,000 gallons of gasoline annually.
The Cayuga County General Municipal Law 239-l, m & n Review Committee reviewed Novilla’s proposal on May 16 but requested updates before taking action.
The town of Aurelius, awaiting the committee’s input, will start its own review process thereafter. The project will convert dairy manure into biogas, which will be injected into a NYSEG pipeline, with the remaining manure recycled.
