Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin has been named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Dahlin netted two goals and notched four assists in two games, helping the Sabres (20-15-2, 42 points) earn a pair of overtime wins and move within four points of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The 22-year-old tallied one assist in a 5-4 victory over the Washington Capitals on January 3. Four days later, Dahlin recorded a career-high five points (2 goals, 3 assists) in a 6-5 win over the Minnesota Wild. He became the youngest NHL defenseman with a five-point performance since Dion Phaneuf on December 13, 2007.

Dahlin has scored 12 goals and collected 32 assists in 36 games this season.
