The Citizen reports Flanigan, 35, of Auburn, admitted to charging a male probationer rent and falsifying records to cover up his actions. He pleaded guilty in March, satisfying charges of offering a false instrument for filing and official misconduct.

Flanigan resigned from his position in late 2023 after his arrest by New York State Police and subsequent investigations.

Attorney J. Justin Woods shared an update about Flanigan, who had originally faced allegations of sending creepy text messages and asking for favors. “The statements about Nick Flanigan of a sexual nature were allegations that were never proven. Mr. Flanigan took a plea deal for conduct related to an inappropriate business relationship,” he said. “He admitted and took responsibility for that conduct in court, which also resolved the other claims against him. He made no admissions regarding the other charges.”
