The Buffalo Sabres lost their eighth straight game on Saturday night by falling to the Toronto Maple Leafs, 5-2, at Scotiabank Arena. With the loss, the Sabres dropped to 7-11-0 on the season.

Buffalo never really had much of a chance as they fell into a 3-0 hole in the first period and could not climb their way out of it.

Both of the Sabres’ goals came on the power play. Alex Tuch netted his ninth of the season, and Casey Mittelstadt scored his fifth. Rasmus Dahlin tallied his 20th point of the season with an assist on Tuch’s goal.

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made his season debut and turned aside 18-of-23 shots.

The Sabres will get a couple of days off before they try to get back in the win column on Tuesday night in Montreal against the Canadiens.
