The Town of Macedon held its first Local Planning Committee (LPC) meeting on May 16, aiming to discuss projects funded by the recent $4.5 million NY Forward award. The LPC, consisting of community members approved by Governor Hochul and NYS Departments, prioritizes the town’s and public’s interests.
Macedon Town Supervisor Kim Leonard emphasized the committee’s goal to suggest various projects, including major, small business, and public initiatives, for the awarded funds. NYS officials visited the Town Hall and toured the Downtown Revitalization Application area, followed by an LPC meeting from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A public presentation is scheduled for June 12, inviting community input, with a general LPC meeting on June 20. Monthly meetings will continue through November, open to the public, with a schedule soon available on the town’s website and social media.
