The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office provided an update late-Friday on a crash that happened on May 11.

Deputies say it happened around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 318 and Nine-foot Road in the Town of Junius. Deputies responded to the scene to investigate the incident.

Authorities determined that Patrick Green, 17, of Phelps was traveling south through the intersection when another vehicle driven by Karen Martz, 59, of Rochester, struck him. Martz had been passing several cars on the right at a high speed. Both Martz and her passenger were taken to Geneva General Hospital with leg injuries.

Martz was issued traffic tickets for unsafe passing and failure to maintain her lane.
