Former Governor Andrew Cuomo has filed a lawsuit. The suit was filed on Friday agains the state’s ethics commission.
It’s the latest part of an ongoing dispute over his earnings from a book that was written during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, as thousands died across New York.
In the suit, which was filed in state Supreme Court in Albany, Cuomo claims the Joint Commission on Public Ethics violated his constitutional rights and showed ‘extraordinary bias against him’.
JCOPE did not comment.
They ordered Cuomo to turn money made from the book over to them in December. The AG’s office said that additional steps needed to be taken by JCOPE before they could get involved.
