U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced that David Lettieri, 36, of Harpursville, NY, was sentenced to 240 months in prison for enticing a minor. U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo handed down the sentence after Lettieri was convicted by a federal jury.

In October 2020, Lettieri traveled from Broome County to meet a 13-year-old girl in a Wyoming County park with the intent of engaging in sexual activity. Though no sexual contact occurred, investigators found photos of the victim on Lettieri’s phone and recovered sexually explicit conversations from his Facebook account involving the victim and her sister.

The case was investigated by the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Gregory J. Rudolph, and the FBI, under Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia.
