How many people are getting the extension?
Roughly 399,000 households in Oregon are set to receive the benefit extension. The amount varies on household size, but $95 is the minimum amount. Find more information here.
The $95 is in addition to the regular SNAP benefit amount. The extra increased benefits by 60% on average, more than $460.
Oregon has extended the benefits because they know how many people rely on them. The federal government has approved every emergency allotment since March of 2020.
There is a divide, as some states have extended the emergency benefit and in other states it is ending.
