Man paddleboards from Rochester to Toronto as first disabled person to cross international waters that way

On Sunday morning Mike Shoreman began his paddle boarding journey from Rochester to Toronto.

Shoreman will be the first person to cross international waters with a disability if he succeeds.

Before being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, he was a professional paddleboarder.

The syndrome made him unable to balance and inflicted mental and physical disabilities on him.

His journey is an attempt at bringing awareness to mental health issues, especially in young people.

Money raised will be donated to The Trevor Project and The Tyler Clementi Foundation, youth and LGBTQ+ organizations.
