Arrest made in connection with burglary in Corning

Christopher Delooze was arrested in response to a burglary in progress on Hammond Street in Corning on Tuesday morning.

Police said the suspect fled before police arrived but evidence was left behind that allowed officers to track him to a residential area close to Park Avenue.

Delooze was in a backyard hiding when police arrived and was taken into custody. He was arrested and charged with two counts of felony Burglary in the third degree.

Police say he is allegedly responsible for a burglary at the same residence that happened on May 15.

Delooze was turned over to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office to be arraigned in Bath. The Corning Police had assistance from the New York State Police in making the arrest.
