A Bath man was arrested after police said he unlawfully entered a residence during a domestic dispute, leading to a physical confrontation with a neighbor who intervened to protect the victim.
Dylan T. Walker, 28, was charged following the Sept. 18 incident at a residence in Colonial Lawns, according to the Bath Police Department.
Police were called to the residence around 1:30 a.m. for a reported physical domestic dispute. The suspect had left before officers arrived.
Investigators said Walker had entered the residence unlawfully before a neighbor intervened in an effort to protect the victim. Police said that led to a physical altercation inside the home, with the neighbor eventually fending off Walker.
Walker fled after police were called, according to the department.
Officers located him around 10:28 a.m. on West Morris Street and took him into custody without incident.
Walker was charged with second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation.
He was processed and taken to the Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment, where he was later released.
