Drivers in Nunda should expect intermittent single-lane traffic on portions of state Routes 408 and 436 beginning Tuesday, Aug. 4, as crews carry out pavement rehabilitation work.
The restrictions will affect Route 408, also known as State Street, between the Village of Nunda line and Route 70 in the town, along with Route 436, or Mill Street, within the village, according to the state Department of Transportation.
Flaggers will control traffic through the work zones on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The project is expected to be completed by Aug. 21.
Motorists should allow extra travel time and use alternate routes if needed. The schedule is weather-dependent and may change.
The department reminded drivers that fines are doubled for speeding in work zones. Two or more work-zone speeding convictions can result in a driver's license suspension.
