State parks officials will hold a virtual public meeting July 22 on planned trail system improvements at Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area in Livingston County.
The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation said staff will discuss changes intended to better support park management, environmental stewardship and recreation goals at the 1,596-acre recreation area in Springwater.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 22. It will include a formal presentation from OPRHP staff, followed by time for public comment and questions.
Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area was established in 1962 through a charitable gift and now supports about 20 miles of multiuse trail, according to the state.
The meeting is open to the public, but preregistration is required. People who want to participate must register online or email ParksPlanning.Info@parks.ny.gov by 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 21.
State officials said the virtual meeting will be accessible to people with disabilities. Anyone who needs a reasonable accommodation for effective communication should contact Owen Gilbo at Owen.Gilbo@parks.ny.gov or 518-402-2648, preferably within 14 days of the meeting date.
