Google Pixel 11 Launch Event Confirmed for August 12 as Fans Await New AI Features

Google has revealed the date of its next Made by Google hardware event. It’s scheduled for August 12, 2026 in New York City. The presentation will start at 6 p.m. ET and is expected to be about the next generation of Pixel devices. Google hasn’t officially announced what products will be announced, but it seems like the Pixel 11 family will be the star of the show, with some wearables possibly making an appearance.

This comes ahead of Google’s Pixel 10 showcase on August 20, 2025. Moving the presentation forward gives Google more time to market its latest phones ahead of the busy fall smartphone season.

Pixel 11 family to headline event .

The new Pixel lineup will likely include a mix of devices aimed at different types of buyers. Reports suggest Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. While the devices aren’t officially official until Google pulls back the curtain, some recent reports concur that a few Pixel models are getting ready to debut.

Leaked info also points to tweaks to the design, rather than a complete visual overhaul. The bezels on the standard model could be thinner and the Pro models could be a little thinner. The foldable version is also rumored to be getting design changes which are expected to make it feel more premium and competitive to other premium foldable phones.

The AI Capability Might Be The Biggest Story

Google’s Pixel strategy will likely still revolve around artificial intelligence. Gemini has been scaling across phones, wearables, cars, browsers and other devices. Android 17 takes AI to the next level in daily chores. Google has announced a lot of updates around multi-step help, smarter voice interaction, personalized products and cross-product AI capabilities.

The big questions for Pixel 11 buyers are how Google will use AI to do things like photography, communication, productivity and personal assistance. Pixel phones have grown into flagship devices that showcase the latest software capabilities from Google, so fans are hoping for more than just processor and camera upgrades at the August event.

Tensor G6 May Improve Performance and Efficiency

The Pixel 11 series will probably also feature a new generation of Tensor chips. We still don’t have the full specs, but the next chip is rumoured to focus on AI processing, efficiency, camera computing, and heat dissipation.

Google’s approach with Pixel has always been about software and machine learning, rather than simply trying to win in raw benchmark performance from day one. The Pixel 11 generation will likely continue that trend, using hardware upgrades to bring faster, more personal AI features.

Pixel Watch 5 could be announced

Google’s August hardware presentation might not just be about smartphones. The Pixel Watch 5’s design is not officially confirmed yet, but it’s widely expected to be part of the next generation of the company’s wearables.

“Google said it’s expanding Gemini-powered experiences beyond phones, and wearables are another huge focus for AI development. The future smartwatches will likely provide health information, fitness guidance, voice interaction, notifications and other useful help without having to open up their phones all the time.

Big Questions: Pricing, Release Dates

Google has confirmed the August 12 event but final pricing and retail availability for the Pixel 11 is yet to be known. Recently, there have been whispers about some models, particularly the premium and foldable ones, potentially experiencing price adjustments.

The company could continue its recent strategy of opening pre-orders shortly after the event and starting deliveries later in August. However, customers should hold their breath for any particular dates for pre-ordering or shipping until they hear from Google.
