One UI 9.0 Testing Expands to More Samsung Galaxy Devices as New Update Rollout Grows

Testing is said to be rolling out to many more Galaxy phones and tablets as Samsung continues to work on One UI 9.0. Based on Android 17, the software was first released to the public beta for the Galaxy S26 series, but internal test builds have now been spotted for dozens of other devices. The rollout suggests that Samsung is getting ready to push out the update to flagships, foldables, tablets and a few mid-range models, instead of keeping early development to its latest premium phones.

Galaxy S26 Series Kicks Off Public Beta Testing

Samsung officially launched the One UI 9 beta program for the Galaxy S26 lineup in May 2026. The Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra were the first devices to join the program and were available in select markets, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, India, Poland and South Korea. Eligible users can sign up through the Samsung Members app, and Samsung is still gathering feedback and releasing updated beta builds.

The public beta is still more limited than the internal testing program of Samsung. Sources say that builds of One UI 9.0 are currently being tested on around 37 Galaxy devices, spanning a range of generations and product types. The internal testing doesn’t mean that every device listed will get the stable update at the same time, but it does mean that the development work has expanded to many devices beyond the newest S26 models.

Older Galaxy S Flagships In Internal Testing

Samsung is reportedly testing devices from the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S23 families. Internal One UI 9 development is associated with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, S23 Ultra and S23 FE devices. This wider testing phase is important, as Samsung has to optimize Android 17 and its own interface changes for different processors, camera systems, memory setups, and screen sizes.

Also included in the reported testing expansion are foldable phones. The newest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are joined by older models like the Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. Foldables require more interface work, as features such as multitasking, split-screen apps, cover displays and changing screen layouts heavily rely on Samsung’s software customization.

Also Testing Galaxy A Series Tablets

One UI 9 development isn’t exclusive to expensive devices. The reports show internal builds for various Galaxy A models including the new and old mid-rangers like the Galaxy A57, A56, A37, A36, A35, A34, A26, A25, A24, A17, A16, and A07. Galaxy M models have also appeared in testing reports, which indicates Samsung is preparing to make Android 17 widely available across various price points.

The tablet testing is said to be with devices in the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S10 families. To bring One UI 9 to tablets, Samsung needs to make better large-screen features, multitasking tools, productivity functions and DeX-related behaviors. The fact it’s being tested on phones, foldables and tablets simultaneously is a sign that the company is preparing One UI 9 as an update for a wider ecosystem, and not just a phone software release.
