Persona 4 Revival Game Showcases New Videos Featuring Protagonist and Rise Ahead of Release Update

Atlus has shared a couple of new character trailers for Persona 4 Revival, providing a closer look at the remake’s protagonist and beloved idol Rise Kujikawa. The videos are a promo push for the upcoming RPG, which continues to build momentum ahead of its confirmed February 18, 2027 release date. Persona 4 Revival is a modern remake of Persona 4 Golden with updated visuals, reworked combat presentation, improved cutscenes, interface improvements and additional content.

Return To Inaba: Protagonist Video Highlights

The first trailer focuses on the main character, who is introduced as the leader of the Investigation Team. In the story, he is a second-year high school student, who moves to the rural town of Inaba, and stays with his uncle due to circumstances involving his parents. His arrival finds him in the middle of a strange murder investigation involving the mysterious Midnight Channel and a supernatural world hidden within television screens.

The new video shows off the remake’s new character models, facial animation, dialogue presentation and everyday scenes around Inaba. The protagonist is designed again to be a mostly player directed character, where choices made in conversation and daily activities affect relationships and progression. Nazeeh Tarsha is the English voice for the protagonist and Daisuke Namikawa reprises his role as the Japanese voice actor.

Kujikawa Rise Becomes Spotlight Character

Another video features Rise Kujikawa, one of the most recognizable characters in the Persona 4 cast. Rise is a first year high school student who became famous as an idol under the stage name Risette. She moves back to Inaba where her grandmother runs a tofu shop, and eventually gets very involved with the Investigation Team. Her Persona is Himiko.

The Rise trailer offers a fresh glimpse of her revamped look and revised scenes, while retaining the vibrant personality that defined the original character. Rise is reprised by Rie Kugimiya in Japanese and Abby Trott in English. The video is yet another indication that Atlus plans to highlight individual cast members in dedicated character trailers ahead of the game’s release.

The Remake Improves Upon the Original Persona 4 Experience

Persona 4 Golden keeps the original game’s core story but rebuilds much of the experience for modern hardware. Players investigate strange murders in Inaba, balancing the supernatural dungeon crawling with school life, friendships, extracurricular activities, studying, social events and dating opportunities. Everyday life, too, can help strengthen bonds and, in turn, the protagonist and his Personas.

Atlus has said the remake will feature updated graphics, reworked interface, reworked combat, new cutscenes, quality of life improvements, and more content. The combat system is also being pitched as more tactical, with new music and updated presentation to make the game accessible to both returning players and those new to Persona 4.
