A Canandaigua woman was taken into custody on an Ontario County arrest warrant during a traffic stop Saturday night, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said Sally A. Belcher, 67, of Canandaigua, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped July 5 near State Route 332 and Canandaigua-Farmington Townline Road.
The stop was made at 11:53 p.m. for an unrelated traffic offense, according to the release.
After deputies verified Belcher's identity, they determined she had an active arrest warrant out of Ontario County. She was taken into custody and transported to the Ontario County Jail for processing, where she was to be held for centralized arraignment.
The Sheriff's Office said the warrant was issued by Judge Jones in Canandaigua Town Court in January 2025 on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Deputies said Belcher had been unable to be located at the time of the offense.
