Two Auburn senior living facilities want millions cut from their property assessments after the city’s latest reassessment, according to The Citizen. The lawsuits could shift more of the local tax burden onto other property owners if the facilities win.
Northbrook Heights wants its value lowered from about $6.8 million to $684,000, while Bluefield Manor wants its assessment reduced from about $4.8 million to $2.5 million.
Both properties argue their assessments are excessive and unequal. The challenges follow similar cases from major Auburn property owners, including Walmart, Nucor and Auburn Plaza.
