Keuka College, Yates County launch workforce partnership

Keuka College and Yates County are teaming up on a workforce development partnership aimed at expanding educational opportunities for county employees while creating internships and career pathways for students.

The agreement will make Yates County's nearly 500 employees and their family members eligible for reduced tuition in Keuka College undergraduate, graduate, online and hybrid programs.

The partnership also is expected to create experiential learning, internship and job opportunities for Keuka College students within county government and related public service fields.

College and county officials said the initiative is designed to support recruitment, retention and professional development for county workers while giving students more direct connections to local career opportunities.

The agreement comes as counties and municipalities across the region continue to compete for skilled employees in public administration, human services, planning, finance, public health and other government operations.

Keuka College officials said the partnership reflects the college's focus on hands-on learning and regional engagement. County officials said it gives employees and their families a more affordable path to continue their education while strengthening the local workforce.

The program is expected to connect students with real-world experience while helping Yates County build a stronger pipeline for future employees.
