A morning fire on Canandaigua Lake destroyed two boats and heavily damaged a third Thursday, according to the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department.
Fire officials said crews were called to the lake around 5:04 a.m. for a boat fire on the Middlesex Fire District side of Canandaigua Lake. Cheshire firefighters responded with the Middlesex and Canandaigua fire departments.
Officials said two boats were destroyed in the fire. A third boat sustained serious damage.
Photos and video from the scene showed heavy smoke coming from the boats as firefighters worked to bring the fire under control.
No injuries were reported, according to fire officials. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
