Emergency vehicles, tow trucks, specialty cars and family activities will return to Ovid later this month as South Seneca Ambulance and the Edith B. Ford Memorial Library prepare for the fourth annual Touch-a-Truck event.
The free event is scheduled for Saturday, May 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at South Seneca Ambulance Headquarters on Route 96A in Ovid. Organizers say families will have the chance to explore the vehicles that serve the community up close while meeting the people behind them.
In addition to ambulances and emergency response vehicles, organizers say this year’s event will feature a wider variety of trucks and specialty vehicles from local community members.
Programming Specialist Jaime Lynn said the event gives residents an opportunity to connect with local emergency personnel in a relaxed setting while also offering a few surprises for attendees this year.
South Seneca Ambulance will also sell burgers and hot dogs throughout the day. Parking will be available nearby at the right side of Bonavista, according to organizers.
The annual Touch-a-Truck event is organized jointly by South Seneca Ambulance and the Edith B. Ford Memorial Library as a community outreach effort focused on family engagement and public safety awareness.
