One injured in three-vehicle crash at Walworth intersection

One person was injured Tuesday after a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of State Route 441 and Canandaigua Road in the Town of Walworth, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the crash involved a delivery van, a Jeep and a pickup truck.

Investigators said the delivery van, operated by Dylan Peel of Syracuse, was traveling south on Canandaigua Road and failed to yield the right of way while crossing Route 441 at the intersection.

Authorities said the van was struck by a Jeep driven by Michelle VanHout of Marion, who was traveling east on Route 441. The impact pushed the Jeep south onto Canandaigua Road, where it then collided with a pickup truck operated by Harry Gorrel of Webster.

VanHout was the only reported injury and complained of right ankle pain at the scene. She was transported by Wayne County EMS to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Wayne County EMS, the West Walworth Fire Department and multiple towing companies.
