A Newark man was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated Tuesday night after deputies say he was stopped in the town of Arcadia for failing to keep right and later recorded a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested 41-year-old William T. Martin of Park Avenue in Newark following the stop around 10 p.m. Deputies alleged Martin was operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition.
According to the sheriff’s office, Martin voluntarily submitted to a chemical test at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office that determined his BAC was .19%. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and additional vehicle and traffic violations.
Martin was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Arcadia Town Court on May 27 at 3 p.m.
