A pedestrian was taken to a regional trauma center Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Hancock and Second streets in Ithaca.
The Ithaca Police Department said officers, along with the Ithaca Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance, responded to the scene around 1:58 p.m. on May 10 for a reported personal injury accident involving a pedestrian.
Preliminary investigation found the pedestrian was crossing Second Street when they were hit by a vehicle that had just turned from Hancock Street onto Second Street. Police said the driver did not see the pedestrian already in the roadway and was determined to be at fault in the crash.
