Auburn eyes $1.5M paving contract

Fresh pavement could hit several Auburn streets soon, as city leaders prepare to lock in a major road contract, according to The Citizen. Auburn City Council is set to vote on a $1.5 million deal with Northern Asphalt.

The company submitted the lowest bid, beating two regional competitors. The project hinges on a still-pending New York state budget, which funds much of the city’s road work.

Plans already target six streets, including Lake Avenue, a priority due to an upcoming bridge closure. More roads could be added if funding allows, with construction expected to ramp up once the budget clears.
