A Freeville woman was taken into custody months after deputies say she stole more than $1,400 in merchandise from a retail store in Cayuga County.
Alice N. Crispell, 31, was arrested April 1 on a warrant charging her with fourth-degree grand larceny following an investigation into a reported theft at Lowe’s in Sennett.
Authorities said the alleged theft occurred Aug. 26, 2025, when Crispell is accused of taking $1,419.78 worth of merchandise. Deputies were unable to locate her at the time, and a warrant was later issued for her arrest.
She was taken into custody after being released from the Seneca County Jail and transported to the Cayuga County Jail. Bail was set at $1,000 cash or $1,500 secured bond.
Crispell appeared in Sennett Town Court on April 8 to answer the charge.
