Police arrested a man following a traffic stop tied to a reported intoxicated driver.
William R. Jensen, 43, of Penn Yan, was taken into custody by Penn Yan Police.
Officers said a caller reported a person leaving in a vehicle while intoxicated and pointed out the vehicle as it traveled toward Liberty Street.
Police located the vehicle and observed it swerving left and crossing a double solid line before initiating a stop.
During the stop, officers observed signs of intoxication, including bloodshot, watery eyes and the odor of alcohol. Jensen failed field sobriety tests.
He was transported to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, where he voluntarily submitted to a blood draw.
Police charged Jensen with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right. He was processed and released on traffic tickets to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
Further charges are pending based on the blood test results.
