Loved ones of Axel Hernandez gathered in Greece for a memorial flag football event, raising money and awareness while pushing for “Axel’s Law.” The proposal would require earlier intervention when warning signs suggest a child faces danger at home.
Organizers say the petition has already drawn more than 13,000 signatures and continues to climb toward 20,000, the threshold to bring it to lawmakers. The family also plans to meet with a state assemblyman as they push to prevent similar tragedies.
