Police investigate early morning shooting in Geneva, victim airlifted to Strong Hospital

Police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence on Reed Street in Geneva early Sunday morning.

Officers arrived around 3 a.m. and found evidence of a shooting at a large after-hours party, according to the Geneva Police Department.

Police recovered several 9mm handgun casings outside the residence.

Authorities said people at the scene were uncooperative with officers.

A short time later, police learned a gunshot victim had been taken by private vehicle to Geneva General Hospital.

The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was later transferred to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight.

Police said the incident appears to be isolated.

The department’s detective bureau is asking for the public’s help as the investigation continues.
