New York recorded its safest hunting season on record in 2025, according to state officials.
The Department of Environmental Conservation reported seven hunting-related shooting incidents during the season, with no fatalities.
Five of the incidents were self-inflicted, while two involved more than one person.
One case involved an unlicensed individual who was hunting illegally.
The agency also reported nine falls from tree stands or elevated platforms, including one fatality.
