A Long Island man has been arrested in connection with a $20,000 scam targeting a Wayne County resident.
New York State Police said Aidan Chun Loong Chan, 19, of Hicksville, was charged with third-degree grand larceny.
Investigators said the case began in August 2025, when a Williamson resident reported being scammed by individuals posing as bank fraud representatives.
The victim was instructed to withdraw $20,000 in cash and hand it over to a person who came to her home.
Authorities said Chan was identified as the individual who collected the money and later transferred it to another person downstate.
He was arrested March 22 and arraigned in Wayne County CAP court.
