Civics bee regional competition set for Seneca Falls

A regional civics competition for middle school students will take place April 25 in Seneca Falls.

The Seneca County Chamber Community Foundation will host the National Civics Bee event at Northeast College of Health Sciences.

The competition begins at 8 a.m. and will feature 20 finalists from across the Finger Lakes region.

Students will compete in two rounds of 10 multiple-choice questions focused on civics knowledge.

Participants will also present and discuss solutions to community issues based on their essays during a question-and-answer session with judges.

Three finalists will advance to the state-level competition.

The National Civics Bee is an annual event aimed at encouraging young people to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.
