‘Angels in America’ lands on Ithaca stage

A landmark AIDS-era drama will take the stage in Ithaca as Theatre Incognita prepares to perform “Angels in America, Part 1,” according to The Tompkins Weekly.

The production runs March 27 through April 5 at the Kitchen Theatre Company as part of the venue’s Kitchen Sink series. The play follows interconnected New Yorkers navigating love, illness, politics and faith during the 1980s AIDS crisis.

Tony Kushner’s award-winning work earned the 1993 Pulitzer Prize and a Tony Award for Best Play. Local actors and designers will bring the production to life under the direction of Theatre Incognita artistic director Ross Haarstad.
