Crowds are expected to pack Women’s Rights National Historical Park as Women’s History Weekend returns March 6 and 7.
The two-day event will feature living history programs, hands-on activities and a special guest lecture centered on Elizabeth Cady Stanton and the 1848 Seneca Falls Convention.
Programs run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the park, 136 Fall St., Seneca Falls.
Friday’s schedule includes “Revolutionary Roots” at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. inside the Wesleyan Chapel, the site of the first Women’s Rights Convention.
At 1 p.m. Friday, a living history performance titled “Martha’s Voice” will spotlight Martha Coffin Wright at the Guntzel Theater.
Visitors can also take part in a make-and-take craft, “Lucretia Mott’s Rag Rugs,” from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Friday at the visitor center.
Saturday brings additional programs, including a 10 a.m. presentation of “Martha’s Voice” and a second opportunity to create rag rugs from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
At 2 p.m. Saturday, historian Ellen Carol DuBois will deliver a special guest lecture titled “Elizabeth Cady Stanton: A Revolutionary Life” at the Guntzel Theater.

DuBois will sign copies of her book at 3 p.m. at the Eastern National Bookstore. The talk and signing are also highlighted on the event flyer for March 7.
Activities will run throughout the weekend, including Women’s History Month coloring sheets, a “Qualities of an Inspiring Woman” craft and a community paper chain where visitors can add the name of a woman who inspires them.
The park will also continue its regular ranger-led program, “Revolutionary Roots: The 1848 Convention,” offered Tuesday through Saturday at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Wesleyan Chapel.
The visitor center and chapel are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Historic homes connected to the movement are closed for the spring season, though the grounds remain open during daylight hours.
Park officials advise visitors to check for possible winter weather impacts before arriving, as severe conditions could limit access or close buildings.
