Cornell women’s lacrosse erupts for 20 goals in win over UC Davis

Cornell women’s lacrosse used a dominant first-half surge to defeat UC Davis, 20-4, on Tuesday afternoon, scoring 15 consecutive goals to take control early.

After UC Davis opened the scoring, Cornell responded with relentless offensive pressure, netting 15 unanswered goals to build a commanding 15-1 halftime lead. The Big Red continued their momentum in the second half, adding five more goals while limiting the Aggies to just three across the final two quarters.

Cornell held a decisive 32-11 advantage in shots and controlled the draw circle, 17-8, while forcing 11 turnovers and committing only five. The Big Red also completed 11 of 13 clearing attempts, maintaining consistent possession throughout the contest.

Ellie Bergin led the offensive effort with four goals and three draw controls. Lilly Whaling added three goals, while Dillyn Patten, Lexie Tully, Kathleen Michaud, Ella Wilmot, and Gretta White each scored twice. Ellie Bornhoeft, Cameron Traveis, and Holly Newman also contributed goals as 11 different players scored in the balanced attack.

In goal, Mackenzie Clark allowed one goal and made two saves over the opening 36:04 before Lucy Gomez played the remainder of the game in relief.
