Couple wants donated Lyons gas station returned

A Lyons couple wants a small Gulf gas station they donated more than 20 years ago returned after it sat unused for decades, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

Jim and Robin Pacello donated the Route 14 station to the Wayne County Historical Society in 2002 with the understanding it would become a visitors center. The building never opened and now appears abandoned.

The Wayne County Regional Land Bank bought the property from the historical society in 2024 for $65,000 as part of a $7.65 million Canal Street redevelopment project. Officials say the building isn’t for sale and will be stabilized and renovated.
