Court delay pushes former Waterloo supervisor’s felony case into March

A scheduling mix-up stalled court action again in a high-profile burglary case, according to The Finger Lakes Times. Arguments on pre-trial motions were postponed until March 18 in Seneca County Court.

Former town supervisor Don Trout, 41, faces a felony burglary charge tied to an alleged break-in at the town Highway Department in March 2024. Prosecutors say the incident involved property damage inside the building.

Trout also faces multiple misdemeanor charges, including official misconduct and criminal mischief. He remains free on his own recognizance and lost his reelection bid in November.
