Nearly eight decades of community service took center stage in McLean this month, according to Tompkins Weekly.
The McLean Fire Department Auxiliary celebrated its 78th anniversary during a Jan. 11 banquet that also installed new officers for 2026. Members gathered at the Elm Tree Inn to honor the group’s long history of supporting local firefighters through fundraising and community events.
The auxiliary named Jerri Bernard as president, alongside newly installed officers and directors who will guide the organization this year. Leaders highlighted ongoing efforts to support fire hall renovations and popular fundraisers like monthly pancake breakfasts.
