Junior Clarke Jackson posted a career-high 21 points and added 10 rebounds, but Cornell women’s basketball dropped a 58-43 Ivy League decision to Yale on Monday afternoon at Newman Arena.

The Big Red fell to 7-10 overall and 2-2 in conference play, while the Bulldogs improved to 5-12 and 1-3 in the Ivy League. Cornell struggled offensively throughout the afternoon, shooting 30.4 percent from the field and just 2-for-19 from 3-point range, though it held a slight 36-33 edge on the glass.
Jackson led all scorers for Cornell, finishing 9-of-17 from the floor for her second double-double of the season. Audrey Chen added seven points, Rachel Kaus chipped in five points and seven rebounds, and Kelsey Langston paced the offense with four assists.
Yale shot 43.1 percent from the field and went 10-for-13 at the free-throw line. Ciniya Moore led the Bulldogs with 18 points and five assists, while Luisa Vydrova scored 17. Kiley Capstraw contributed across the board with nine rebounds and eight assists.
Cornell held a narrow edge early before Yale used a first-quarter run to take control. The Big Red briefly regained the lead late in the second quarter, but the Bulldogs closed the half ahead and pulled away after a decisive 9-0 run late in the third. Yale extended the margin in the fourth as Cornell went cold from the floor.
Cornell will conclude its four-game homestand on Saturday, January 24, when it hosts Harvard at 1 p.m.
