After months of pushback, a proposed solar farm hit the brakes when the Town of Chenango board voted unanimously for a moratorium, according to Fox 40 WICZ.
The 12-month pause targets a project proposed by Cipriani Energy Group near Morningside Heights, Chenango Shores, and Hider Park. Residents packed meetings and raised alarms about drainage, flooding, property values, and construction impacts in residential areas.
The moratorium doesn’t kill the project, but opponents see it as a win that buys time. Town leaders plan to use the delay to review studies and zoning before any next steps.
