Trump-pardoned NY man sent back to prison

He got out with Trump’s help — but now he’s back behind bars, according to the Ithaca Journal.

Joseph Schwartz, a former nursing home mogul from Rockland County, returned to an Arkansas prison Dec. 29 to serve time for Medicaid fraud and tax evasion. Though Trump pardoned his federal conviction in November, that didn’t wipe out his state-level sentence.

Schwartz’s lawyers tried — and failed — to argue he’d already served enough time. They also raised concerns about kosher food access in prison, but a judge ruled Arkansas facilities could accommodate him. He could be eligible for parole after just 31 days.
