Ithaca church wins grant to restore stained glass

First Baptist Church in Ithaca will receive $7,500 to restore its historic stained glass windows, thanks to a Sacred Sites grant from the New York Landmarks Conservancy, according to The Tompkins Weekly.

The 1854 Romanesque Revival church, known as the “Jewel of DeWitt Park,” serves more than 4,000 people annually through community dinners, music programs, and shelter meal prep.

The grant is part of $244,500 awarded statewide to help preserve religious sites that double as vital community hubs.
