Steve Mueller clinched a Waterloo Town Board seat by a single vote after a recount, beating Democrat Bob Dinan 668–667, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
The race filled the final two years of a vacated board term. Dinan led on Election Day, but the hand count flipped the result. Despite the loss, he congratulated Mueller and hinted he may run again in 2027.
Meanwhile, outgoing Supervisor Don Trout, who lost re-election and faces burglary charges tied to a town building incident, says his arrest likely cost him the race.
